Irrational?

Is it wrong to not want to date someone because they enjoy hunting and I find hunting disgusting?

  1. Nope, not wrong. Not only is is a difference of interests, hunting is extremely time consuming and expensive. If you're the type that likes to spend most of your weekends and holidays with your honey, and spend your money on activities that you can do together, then a hunter is not someone you will mesh with.

    1. Good point, hunting is an $$ hobby! Although one compromise: while he hunts, you get to go to the spa :)

    2. Good point! I hadn't even thought of that.

  2. Ditto to what Amanda said. I also specifically don't date guys who are hunters. Now, if they're the kind of guy that is like "I *have* hunted in the past but I'm not a *hunter*" Then I'd date them, but if they have a living room decorated in camo, see ya!

    1. I think I would do the same thing...past experiences, fine, current, I'll pass. Just not for me.

  3. Not even a little wrong. Even if I weren't an anti-gun vegetarian, I still believe you shouldn't be disgusted by your S.O.'s hobbies.

  4. I don't care for it either. My mom doesn't like it, but she likes the time she gets the house to herself when Rusty goes hunting or fishing. That said, she does *not* like having stuffed animals in her home (if he insists on getting something stuffed, she insists it stays in the computer room - he has 3 animals in there, I think?). Anyway, long story short . . . you do what works for you!

  5. Meh, depends on the guy. Personally I wouldn't mind because I get ample amount of me time. However, consider this: zombie apocalypse a la Walking Dead, you got yourself a real handy person to brave the outside world with!!

    1. Yeah, I adore my me time and will get it regardless of what the hobbies of my significant other are, LOL. This was actually about the specific hobby, which I just can't stomach.
